The internationally acclaimed BLUE/ORANGE, directed by award winning director Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe, opened to a sell out audience on 11 February 2012 at the world renowned Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, located in the heart of Union Square in downtown San Francisco, CA.
Written by Joe Penhall, and featuring celebrated actor Carl Lumbly, BLUE / ORANGE centers on 'two doctors trying to deal with a young Black schizophrenic patient,'and is described as 'an incendiary tale of race, power, and madness.' It has garnered an Evening Standard, Laurence Olivier and Critics Circle awards, and received rave reviews.
BLUE / ORANGE, debuted on 7 April 2000, was performed again on 30 April 2001, and began a third run in 2005 at the Royal National and Duchess National Theatres, respectively, in England; premiering in the U.S. in December 2002 at New York's Atlantic Theatre Company.
The Lorraine Hansberry Theatre production of BLUE / ORANGE previewed on 8 February 2012, opened on 11 February, and will run through 18 March 2012.
